Tandem Health, a European healthtech company, has secured $100 million in Series B funding, bringing its total raised to $160 million. The funding round was led by Scaleup Europe Fund, managed by EQT, with participation from existing investors Kinnevik, Northzone, Amino Collective, and Visionaries.
The company offers an AI medical assistant for European healthcare, including an AI scribe that turns clinical conversations into structured notes and documents, a coding assistant, dictation tools, and clinical decision support. Tandem Health’s platform is built for various healthcare fields, including medicine, mental health, nursing, social services, physiotherapy, and dentistry.
Expansion Plans
Tandem Health said that 10,000 care organizations across 14 European markets currently use its offerings. The funds will help the company speed up adoption of its technology across Europe and expand from an AI medical assistant to an AI-native clinic operating system.
According to Dr. Katie Baker, UK director of Tandem Health, “The investment will fuel the mission of Tandem – to take care of European healthcare. We’ll do that firstly by investing in scale. Going deeper in the markets we’re already in and growing the clinical team inside the company.”
Dr. Baker added that the company has more than 75 clinicians on staff building and delivering these tools, and that’s where they invest hardest, because clinical AI succeeds or fails on adoption, not on procurement. The second part of their plan is to expand their scope, becoming a fully integrated clinic operating system.
Certifications and Acquisitions
Last year, Tandem Health secured $50 million in Series A funding. In the past six months, the company has secured EU MDR Class IIa certification for three medical devices, including its Clinical Decision Support tool, AI Medical Scribe, and Coding Assistant.
In February, the company announced its Coding Assistant was EU MDR certified. One month before, the company announced it acquired Juvoly, a Dutch AI medical scribe company. Juvoly was widely used in Dutch primary care, hospitals, and municipalities, and the deal combined Juvoly’s presence and expertise in the Dutch healthcare system with Tandem’s European clinical AI platform.
Tandem Health’s AI offerings focus on easing clinicians’ administrative workloads, including ambient documentation and clinical note generation, though some have expanded into broader workflows such as coding and decision support. Other companies in the market include France-based Nabla, UK-based Tortus, Denmark-based Corti, and Australia-founded Heidi Health.
